Main Activities
- development, research, training, promotion of energy efficiency and introduction of the renewable energy sources in the region in order to maximise the self-supply of energy and to strengthen the well-being of the inhabitants of the Spodnje Podravje region
- integration of experts and institutions and co-operation establishing in the field of research, development, training and supporting new technologies and processes
- enhancing the sustainable use of energy
- creation and execution of research, development and training programmes" transfer of knowledge, know-how and technologies to practice and develop innovative approaches
Partner input
LEA Spodnje Podravje consists of 5 well skilled energy experts who support the 25 municipalities in the field of rational energy consumption an. Its experts are active in energy auditing and in cleaner production in SMEs. LEA Spodnje Podravje has established a good relationship with the local industry and with the company for external auditing and certifying the EMAS in industry.
Expected output
The final result of the project on the national level is developing national policy of the EMAS implementation in Slovenian industry especially in the SME sector which is the first and most important step in eco innovation.

The Interregional Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC, financed by the European Union's
Regional Development Fund, helps Regions of Europe work together to share experience and
good practice in the areas of innovation, the knowledge economy, the environment and risk
prevention. EUR 302 million is available for project funding but, more than that, a wealth of
knowledge and potential solutions are also on hand for regional policy-makers.
